Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Classical Deep Tissue Massage:.

Deep Tissue focuses on slow, firm pressure and sustained strokes to reach deeper muscle layers and fascia, treating chronic tension and adhesions. Relaxation massage uses lighter, soothing techniques. Deep work may feel intense and can require follow-up and aftercare for best results.

Mild to moderate soreness is common for 24–72 hours after deep work. Drink plenty of water, rest, and apply heat or ice as needed. Communicate with your therapist if soreness is severe or prolonged, and follow recommended aftercare.

For chronic issues, begin with weekly or biweekly sessions for several weeks, then transition to monthly maintenance. Frequency depends on condition, activity level, and response. Your therapist will recommend a personalized plan to achieve and maintain results.

Certain conditions—recent surgery, open wounds, blood clots, uncontrolled hypertension, severe osteoporosis, and some cardiovascular issues—may contraindicate deep tissue massage. Pregnancy requires modifications. Always complete an intake form and consult your physician when in doubt.

Arrive hydrated and have a light meal beforehand. Avoid heavy exercise immediately before your session. Afterward, drink fluids, rest, perform gentle stretches, and follow any homecare guidance from your therapist to support recovery and results.
